Printing hate

I was asked to provide illustrations for a story about the 1919 Elaine Massacre, one of the deadliest acts of violence against Black people. The story was part of the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism's PRINTING HATE series, dedicated to exploring the role of white-owned newspapers on anti-Black violence. After providing the illustrations, the Howard Center's visual team edited a mini-documentary that accompanied the story.
