Special Projects Editor, The Diamondback

• Reported, wrote, edited and led a two-semesters long enterprise project on the history of desegregation on campus. Interviewed former Black student leaders and activism, Black athletes and former university president. Reporting and research included looking into collections from the University Archives, court decisions, digitized issues of The Diamondback from 1930s to 1990s, university reports and federal and state legislation.
• Covered the UMD employees beat, including collective bargaining rights, working conditions amid the pandemic and childcare. Won SPJ's Mark of Excellence national award for general news reporting (large school division) for the coverage of UMD workers' union fighting for improved COVID-19 protections.
• Reported and wrote several texts for "Behind The Demands" project, which looks into the history of demands that Black student leaders brought to the university. Participated in discussions surrounding the structure of the project and the vision for the website. Coordinated with artists outside The Diamondback to provide illustrations for the project. Also made a total of 10 illustrations for the project.
• Covered the graduate student life beat, including Graduate Student Government meetings, collective bargaining and the impact of the pandemic on graduate students. Previously covered the science and technology beat. On staff since Nov. 2019.

Creative Intern, The Hill

• Designed 4-6 pages per week for The Hill's print edition.
• Designed about 4 illustrations that go along with news and opinion pieces, both for print and the online platform. Illustrations have been the lead art for The Hill's website. Made about 38 illustrations.

Emerging and Community News Intern, The Baltimore Sun

• Covered breaking news, features and profiles. My stories were picked up by The Washington Post, U.S. News and local news organizations like Frederick News Post.
• Monitored Maryland mask mandates on county and state levels along with CDC transmission levels. The story has garnered more than 71,000 page views since publication and drew traffic from 67% of all readers who had never visited the Baltimore Sun website.
